Our itinerary so far…

We have things more or less planned out from our departure date on May 21st through the last week of June. Here’s the rough outline:
5/21-23: Anastasia State Park, St. Augustine, FL

5/24-25: Coe’s Landing campground near Tallahassee, FL. This is a Leon County campground. While we are near Tallahassee we want to visit 2 archaeological sites: Lake Jackson Mounds and Letchworth-Love Archaeological Park.

5/26: Falling Waters State Park: https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Falling-Waters
Near here is the highest point in the state: Britton Hill at 312 feet above sea level. We plan to brave the altitude and climb to the top!

5/27-28: Gulf Islands National Seashore Davis Bayou campground near Ocean Springs, MS.

5/29: Sea Rim State Park Campground near Sabine Pass, TX.

5/30-31: Staying with friends in Port Aransas, TX.

6/1: Seminole Canyon State Park, Comstock, TX

6/2-6/5: Big Bend National Park

6/6-6/7: Davis Mountain State Park, Fort Davis, TX
McDonald Observatory is nearby!

6/8-6/9: Guadalupe Mountains National Park (Guadalupe Mountain is the highest point in Texas)
There are 20 RV sites in Pine Springs Campground in the Park, but no reservations taken…

6/10-6/11: Carlsbad Caverns National Park
No camping in the Park, so we will stay at the KOA in Carlsbad, NM

6/12-6/15: Hyde Memorial State Park, Santa Fe, NM
Mon-Tues, Site #42 (Electric, 20 amp)
Wed, Site #37 (Non-electric)
Thurs, Site #43 (Electric, 20 amp)

6/16-6/17: Taos Monte Bello RV Park
This is the closest RV park to Taos Valley Ski area, where we will meet our friends ANDY and DJ, and attempt to climb Wheeler Peak with them (the highest point in New Mexico!)

6/18-6/20: Mesa Verde National Park

6/21-22: Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park
There was a campsite available in the park for the first night only, so on the second night we will stay at Centennial RV Park in Montrose, CO, a few miles from the National park entrance.

6/22-24: Deer Creek State Park, near Wallsburg, UT (between Provo and Salt Lake City)

6/25: somewhere on the road… maybe stopping overnight in Elko, NV. This may be our first chance to try the Walmart parking lot camping experience, or maybe a Flying J truck stop!

6/26-27: Goose Lake State Park. Our first stop in Oregon!
No reservations… first come- first served.

That’s all we got so far… stay tuned!
